Riding Club FAQ

What is the Riding Club's Address?

Our address has recently changed! Most Riding Club activities, including riding lessons and kids camps, take place at 700 S. Creekwood dr., Driftwood, TX. Our trail rides and some clinics & events take place at our location in downtown Austin (8601 Bluff Springs rd).

Do I need to be a Riding Club Member to join Camp or take a Trail Ride?

No. A Lone Star Riding Club membership is only required for semester lessons (one-time lessons do not require a membership), however, if you are a member, you will receive member-only discounts on some of our other activities!

Can I Cancel my Family Membership?

Yes. Your Riding Club Family Membership will automatically renew once yearly. To cancel your Membership, access your accounts page before the automatic renewal. The Membership will last up until the renewal date, when it will expire.

Are There Options to Reschedule my Riding Lesson or Receive a Makeup?

No. We do not provide makeups for riding lessons that have been missed. Instead, we recommend ensuring that you are only signing up for lessons you'll be able to attend on a consistent basis for the full semester.

It's Raining. Should I still Come?

Yes! We do all of our activities rain or shine unless we contacted you otherwise. It helps in this crazy Texas weather to have an all-weather covered riding arena!

What Should I Bring?

For riding lessons, be sure that you bring your own ASTM/SEI-Certified Equestrian riding helmet (no bike helmets) and boots with a smooth sole and heel. For Pre-Enrollment Lessons, Guest Lessons, Buckaroo Rides, Trail Rides, and Camps, we are happy to provide you with a spare helmet. Make sure to also bring a bottle of water (preferably with added electrolytes in the Summer). For Camps, be sure to look closely at the pack list, which will be emailed to you, as Camps have some other requirements.

Is There a Height, Weight, or Age Limit?

Yes, for riding lessons, the weight limit is 200lbs and the minimum age is 6 years old. For kids camps, the weight limit is 200 lbs and the minimum age is 5 years old. For ranch trail rides, the weight limit is 250 lbs, and the minimum age is 4 years old.
